Berkshire Facts

Berkshire has been the scene of many battles. Berkshire battles include the Battle of Englefield, the Battle of Ashdown and the Battle of Reading. During the English Civil War there were two Berkshire battles in Newbury. During the Glorious Revolution of 1688, there was a second Berkshire Battle at Reading, also known as the "Battle of Broad Street".

Directions:

From M4 and West England. Leave the M4 at j13 follow the signs for newbury this will take you onto the A34 where you will see signs for A339 Newbury. Follow this road and you will come to the Robin Hood Roundabout take the middle lane marked A4 Reading go straight across the small roundabout and you will see the Newbury Manor 300 yards on your right.From A34 Southampton.Follow the signs for Newbury the slip road will bring you off the A34 at Speen. At the roundabout take the first left and then follow the road at the next roundabout go straight across. Follow this road and it will bring you to the Robin Hood roundabout. Stay in the right hand lane and then follow the signs for the A4 Reading. Go straight across the next small roundabout and you will see the Newbury Manor 300 yards on your right.
