Berkshire Facts

Berkshire has been the scene of many battles. Berkshire battles include the Battle of Englefield, the Battle of Ashdown and the Battle of Reading. During the English Civil War there were two Berkshire battles in Newbury. During the Glorious Revolution of 1688, there was a second Berkshire Battle at Reading, also known as the "Battle of Broad Street".

Directions:

From the M25 Leave the M25 at junction 13 and take the A30 sign posted to Egham Bagshot and or Camberley. Follow the A30 towards Bagshot Camberley for approximately 4 miles over two roundabouts and through two sets of lights. Turn right at the third set of traffic lights opposite Wentworth Golf Club onto the A329 signposted for Ascot . Continue along the A329 for two miles and the entrance to the Hotel is on the right hand side. From the West M4 If you are travelling from the West leave the M4 at junction 10 sign posted for Bracknell . Join the A329 which will take you through Bracknell and Ascot. Stay on the A329 for a further 2 miles out of Ascot. The hotel is on the left hand side. From London M4 From Central London join the M4 at Hammersmith. Leave the M4 at junction 4B which leads onto the M25. Follow the M25 Southbound towards Gatwick leave the M25 at junction 13 follow directions above from the M25 . From the North M1 Leave the M1 and join the M25 towards Heathrow. Follow the M25 then exit the M25 at junction 13 follow directions above from the M25 .
