Berkshire has been the scene of many battles. Berkshire battles include the Battle of Englefield, the Battle of Ashdown and the Battle of Reading. During the English Civil War there were two Berkshire battles in Newbury. During the Glorious Revolution of 1688, there was a second Berkshire Battle at Reading, also known as the "Battle of Broad Street".

Directions:

By car Turn off the M4 and take the A329 then the A4 Reading. Crown Street is located on the A4. The car park is situated behind the Hotel with access via St. Giles Close. From Reading train station Walk towards the Oracle Shopping centre. Cross the river toward Vue Cinemas and head left. At the end of the shopping centre turn right and cross over the A4 to London Street. At the end of London Street turn right into Crown Street. We are on the right hand side.
