Berkshire Facts

Berkshire has been the scene of many battles. Berkshire battles include the Battle of Englefield, the Battle of Ashdown and the Battle of Reading. During the English Civil War there were two Berkshire battles in Newbury. During the Glorious Revolution of 1688, there was a second Berkshire Battle at Reading, also known as the "Battle of Broad Street".

Directions:

By car Turn off of M4 at junction 10. Take the A329 then the A4 to Reading. Go past the Royal Berkshire Hospital on the A4 and immediately after the Turk pub turn right into East Street. Take the first left which will bring you to The Faculty. From Reading Station Walk towards the Oracle shopping centre cross over Queens Road into London Street. Turn left into South Street then take the first right which will take you to The Faculty.
