Berkshire has been the scene of many battles. Berkshire battles include the Battle of Englefield, the Battle of Ashdown and the Battle of Reading. During the English Civil War there were two Berkshire battles in Newbury. During the Glorious Revolution of 1688, there was a second Berkshire Battle at Reading, also known as the "Battle of Broad Street".

Directions:

Exit the M4 at junction 6 and follow the signs to Windsor Town Centre. This will take you on to an elavated bypass. Take the first exit off of this road. At the roundabout take the first exit continuing to follow the signs to Windsor Town Centre.Pass through three sets of traffic lights to the next roundabout and take the first major exit on the left. Continue under the railway bridge and follow the road round to the right. You will come to a pedestrian crossing and immediately after this turn left the hotel is then on the left hand side. Car ParkingCar Parking in the nearby Windsor Eton Riverside Train Station Car Park. First come first serve basis no spaces can be reserved.
